Gunmen kill trader, ASI

LAHORE A 40-year-old trader and a Railways police official were killed while another man wounded a car was ambushed in Naulakha area on Tuesday night, police said. Police said that the trader, later identified as Wajid Shah, was killed while his friend Muhammad Shafique wounded when his opponents ambushed his vehicle with automatic weapons near Australia Chowk. However, the railways police official, identified as ASI Pervaiz, was standing alongside road when he fell victim to indiscriminate fire. The killers managed to escape from the crime scene. The injured was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. The deceased Wajid Shah was freed from a jail recently after spending 25 years in prison. The police have removed the bodies to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.
