LAHORE - Former Deputy Speaker in National Assembly and PPP leader Sardar Wazir Ahmad Jogezai has said that Musharraf killed Nawab Akbar Bugti only for the reason that later criticised Musharraf's wrong policies. He said problems of Balochistan could not be solved while sitting in Islamabad and one would have to visit Balochistan for this. He expressed these views in an exclusive interview with The Nation and daily Nawa-i-Waqt here on Thursday. For the backwardness of Balochistan not only federal but also provincial government itself was also responsible as due to poverty it could collect less taxes. He revealed that assassination of Akbar Bugti and deprived the Blochs from their basic rights led to the attacks on government installations and buildings as a result now terrorists activities engulfing the whole Balochistan gradually. He said that no doubt certain foreign powers patronized some Baloch Sardars to achieved their targets but it was not limited to Balochistan but all over the Pakistan now and all it was due to the wrong policies of government. He said that construction of the coastal Highway was made by an Army's institution, which did not benefited people of Balochistan. He said construction of this Highway was god omen for Balochistan but it was damaged right after first rain. Construction of Gawader port also could not benefit the people of Balochistan, as policies framed at the time of its construction ignored interest of people of Balochistan, he lamented. Jogezai said that Local government system also helped to upgrade living of Blochs. He sought justice, education, health facilities and fair and free elections for the betterment of Balochistan. He termed feudalism and capitalism as one of the main reason for backwardness of the province. He further said that to run the country on the track of progress and pull the country out of recent crises, people as well as country friendly policies were required. Similarly less dependence on the loans of international monetary institutions like World Bank and others was need of the hour. As these institutions imposed their wrongs decisions over Pakistani peoples. Jogezai said that government would have to restore the judiciary as public pressure in this regard was being increased and they have jumped into the movement of judiciary.
