VC sees light thru Islam

LAHORE - Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that Islam is a religion of peace stressed the need for following the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
He was addressing a ceremony in connection with Miladun Nabi organised by Department of Punjabi at Sherani Hall, Old Campus on Tuesday. Khateeb of Hazrat Ali Hajveri Shrine Mosque Maulana Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi, Justice (r) Nazir Ahmad Ghazi, Prof Emeritus Dr Khawaja Muhammad Zakria, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning and Chairman Department of Punjabi Dr Ismatullah Zahid, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Dr Mujahid Kamran said that we must form a society on the basis justice, which must be irrespective of any kind of biases and differences. Justice (r) Nazir Ahmed Ghazi said that the biggest problem of the world was to establish peace and the problem could be solved by preaching the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Maulana Mufti Ramzan Sialvi said that the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is the best example for us and it was the responsibility of parents and teachers to transfer our love with Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) to the next generation.
Dr Khawaja Zakria said that Islamic literature was being removed from curriculum books under a conspiracy and the West was making progress by following some of the principles of Islam.
Dr Ismatullah Zahid said that Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was blessing for all the worlds. Renowned Naat Khawan including Hafiz Marghoob Ahmed Hamdani and others presented Naats on the occasion.
