Punjab MEs still on strike

LAHORE - In a meeting of Punjab Monitoring Association held yesterday, the office bearers decide to continue their strike till acceptance of their demands.

The employees working in the Monitoring and Evaluation wing of Punjab Education department are on strike since July 17.

Addressing the meeting, association’s president Rana Ashfaq said that 900 MEs were working in the department for over 12 years. But neither had they got any raise in salaries nor their services had been regularised despite orders from the Lahore High Court.

He appealed to the Punjab chief minister to look into the matter.
