LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said that Punjab government had announced the biggest Ramazan Package in the history of the country.
Presiding over a meeting reviewing steps to implementation on Ramazan Package, the chief minister informed that a sum of Rs5 billion had been given only on the provision of flour to the people at cheaper rates. He further said that a 10 kg flour bag would be available at Rs310 in Ramazan Bazaars, whereas in the open market it cost Rs330. He added that items like ghee, sugar, eggs and chicken would also be available in Ramazan Bazaars at rates cheaper than open market.
He said that the stalls of utility stores would also be set up in those bazaars. The CM warned that no one would be allowed to exploit the public through profiteering and hoarding, adding that the quality of the food items would not be compromised. On the other hand, he said that administrative officers and staff of the concerned districts, making best arrangements in the Ramazan Bazaars, would be encouraged.
