LAHORE - The Punjab University has awarded 5 PhD degrees to the scholars in the fields of Urdu literature, Arabic language, Botany and Zoology, the sources learnt on Saturday. The awardees included Qadeer Anjum (Urdu) after approval of her thesis entitled “Muhammad Hasan Askri Ki Maibua Kutab (Hawashi O Taleeqat)”; Syeda Bint-e-Zahira (Botany) after approval of her thesis entitled “A Study on The Metal Uptake Potential of Selected Indigenous Filamentous Fungi From Industrial Waste Water Around Lahore”; Faisal Kamal Haidri (Urdu) after approval of his thesis entitled “Urdu Shairi Kay Angraizi Tarajim (1947 Kay Bad) Tehqiiqi-O-Tanqeedi Jaiza”; Fakharul Zaman (Arabic) after approval of his thesis entitled “Life and Work of Shaikh Ghulam Nabi-Lillahe- with the Editing of His Manuscript’ Iqtibas-Al-Anwar-Min-Ahadeeth-s-Sayyed-Al-Abraar”; and Naveed Ahmad (Zoology) after approval of his thesis entitled “Embryotoxic Effects of Hexavalant Chromium (Cr +6)” in Mammals”.
