LAHORE - Muhammad Imran, a PTI worker from Rawalpindi, has set up a makeshift stall to sell party caps and flags at Adda Plot where PTI chief Imran Khan will lead the ‘Ehtesab March’ against PML-N government tomorrow.
The workers of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf have set up welcome stalls at Shaukat Khanum, Chowk to welcome the PTI participants to Raiwind march.
Imran told The Nation he originally owned clothing business in a market of Rawalpindi, but whenever his leader, Imran Khan, announces any movement against government, he just wraps up his belongings and arrived the protest venue.
“I was also at Constitutional Avenue Islamabad when Imran Khan led a long march against this corrupt government in 2014,” he said. A large number of PTI’s banners and flags have been erected on Raiwind Road, from Thokar Niaz Baig to Adda Plot.
On the other hand, Ali Khan, a labourer from Okara, who resides near Adda Plot, said that he had advised his children not to go outside and play on roads, on the ‘D-Day’ when a large crowd would be expected.
It is the second march against PM Nawaz-led government after the ‘Azadi March’ in 2014 which lasted for 126 days. The Azadi March was called off in the wake of terrorist attack on Peshawar Army Public School killing 144 children.
Imran Khan, earlier in a series of tweets, said: “Official PM House in Islamabad but taxpayer money being spent on Jati Umra + 96 Model Town for security, maintenance & upkeep.”
Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are of the view that the call for ‘Ehtisab March’ is need of the time and right time to expose the corruption of the leaders who are named in Panama leaks.
An enthusiastic PTI worker said whenever their leader would call them to take to the streets they would come to expose the corruption of PML-N led government.
When asked what would happen if the march could not produce the required results, they vowed to continue their ‘struggle’.
According to a survey conducted by The Nation, no containers have been deployed towards the residence of the premier Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Nawaz Sharif. A long queue of containers can however be seen from Adda Plot towards Sharif Complex, Jati Umra.
