1,800 cams to tape crime

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif asked police to perform their duties efficiently in order to improve law and order in the province.
He was chairing a meeting on law and order in the province. He said that a modern command and control center through which crime would be controlled through maintaining vigilance and monitoring activity in the markets and bazaars through CCTV cameras.
The chief minister said that 1,800 places have been selected in the first phase for the installation of CCTV cameras in the provincial capital. He said that command and control center would also be linked with divisional headquarters through satellite.
He directed that the cabinet committee should review law and order in the province on regular basis. He directed that a vigilant eye should be kept on criminal elements.
The home secretary gave a detailed briefing to the meeting on law and order in the province.
