NPT to mark Fatima Jinnah’s 124th birthday

LAHORE - The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust and the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust will organise a special ceremony this Sunday on the 124th birth anniversary of Fatima Jinnah at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan jointly.

NPT Chairman Muhammad Rafique Tarar will cut the cake on the birthday of Madar-i-Millat. This special ceremony will mark the commencement of the 70th Independence Day celebrations which the NPT proposes to observe with great enthusiasm and fervor.

Declamation contest

An award declamation competitive contest was held amongst the college students jointly organised by Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan yesterday.

It is part of the ceremonies being performed on the second death anniversary of Dr Majid Nizami.

Eminent columnist Qayyum Nizami, Begum Khalida Jamil, Prof Sharafat Ali Khan, Asghar Anwar and a large number of people from various fields of life were present on the occasion.

Qayyum Nizami said that Dr Nizami is missed by all. “He made every ruler distinguish between right and wrong. He remained true to the cause of Islam, Pakistan, Kashmir and democracy,” he said while remembering the late NPT chairman.

Nizami further stressed the need of conveying the message of founding fathers - Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

Prof Sharafat Ali Khan said that the Indian Muslims gained Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam after rendering great sacrifices.

Kafeel Ahmad from the Government College University, Lahore stood first in the contest; Faiz-ur-Rehman from the Nasjon Institute of Health Sciences, New Garden Town, got second position; and Hafiz Mugheera from the Pakistan Railways School and College, Mughalpura, secured third position.
