OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Despite tall claims by the top leadership of the PML-N provincial government about providing immediate justice, a Tehsildar and Patwari of Narowal have allegedly deprived a widow, mother of two minors, from her 34-canal land by tampering legal documents of her property. The fraud has also been confirmed by the forensic laboratory of Punjab, where the experts verified the signatures of the deceased which were tampered. The widow namely Salma Rasheed, who approached TheNation here on Sunday along with her two kids Noor-ul-Ain, 13, and Haris, 11, said her husband Irshad Ahmed was an employee in Education Department, who died in November 2009 and left a total 13 acres land behind him. After his death, I learnt that Tehsildar Rana Zafar Ullah Khan, patwari Zulfiqar and Girdawar Abid tore out original transfer document no 622 and passed a fake document. Instead of transferring land in me and my childrens name, they transferred it in the name of Irshads father. After this fraud was proved, a fraud case (201/2010) was lodged against the responsible at Narowal City police station but the tehsildar and patwari are working on their posts, she added. The woman further said the investigation was halted as the entire records was in the accused custody. According to the documents, which she provided to this reporter, the signatures of the deceased were fake. She said the accused were influential so the authorities concerned were not taking action against them. The woman has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Supreme Court of Pakistan Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Punjab IG Javed Iqbal to take immediate action and provide her justice.
