Lahore - The Punjab government yesterday imposed Section-144, banning assembly of four or more people across the province.

According to a private TV channel, the ban will come into effect from midnight today (Saturday) and remain valid till November 7. According to a notification issued by the Home Department, violators of the ban will face the music.

The move comes despite clashes between opposition protesters and police in Islamabad. Meanwhile, the Pakistan People’s Party and PTI condemned the ban and use of force against the peaceful workers. Dozens of PTI workers were detained by Islamabad police on charges of violation of Section 144.
