Country safer than ever: CM

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that process of national progress and prosperity has restarted in the country which is evident from the fact that Pakistan has strengthened economically during three years.

He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N. The chief minister said that PML-N is implementing the agenda of public service and a number of welfare projects have been completed expeditiously.

The chief minister said that law and order situation substantially improved and the country today is more safer, peaceful and economically stable than ever before. He said that there is no room for negative politics and there is a need for unity and solidarity in the country. He said that the elements engaged in protest politics should mend their ways.

Shehbaz Sharif said that various projects are being implemented for elimination of load-shedding. He said that PML-N government has promoted the trend of transparency and high standard in the execution of development projects and these projects are itself a proof to this fact.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the political elements criticizing public welfare projects are not sincere to the masses. He said that people of Pakistan want progress and prosperity. He said that the elements involved in protest politics want to waste the precious time of the nation and create hurdles in development process.

However, he said, the enlightened people of the country will hold accountable such elements as are trying to hamper the process of progress and prosperity and will not allow their negative designs to succeed. He said that some political elements are again bent upon hindering the process of national progress and prosperity.

He further said that those who are involved in the politics of chaos are trying to achieve their selfish interests and their efforts tantamount to enmity to the nation. He said that the politically conscious people of Pakistan have always rejected such elements and will not be misled by them.

Meanwhile, MNA Maj (r) Tahir Iqbal met Shehbaz Sharif, here yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that people are benefitting from mega projects completed in the province and development schemes are being implemented in rural and urban areas under and a comprehensive development policy.

He said that transparency, high standard and speed is the hallmark of Punjab government. He said that special attention is being paid to education, health, water supply and social sectors. He said that a big project of supply of potable water to people is being implemented. He said that billions of rupees are being spent on uplift of health sector and provision of educational facilities to citizens.

Shehbaz Sharif said that service to people is the mission of the government and no effort is being spared for its achievement. Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government is fulfilling its promises made to the people and all out efforts are being made for welfare of the masses and raising the living standard of the deprived segments of the society. He said that journey of progress and development will be completed under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
