LAHORE – Punjab government has appointed Mian Farooq Nazir IG Prisons and removed Kokab Nadeem Waraich from his office.
A notification in this effect was issued on Friday. It is worth mentioning here that Mian Farooq has already served as IG Prisons and was removed from his post during Governor’s Rule in Punjab in the year 2009 and a junior officer Kokab Nadeem was appointed as IG. Mian Farooq Nazir had also filed a petition in Lahore High Court wherein he alleged that  Waraich was junior to him.
