Sectt drivers request Col's family to forgive

LAHORE Sister unit of the Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees Association, staff car drivers, despatch riders and mechanics association, has requested the bereaved family of Col (r) Muhammad Ikram to forgive the driver, who has been accused of hitting the deceased, which caused army mans death. President Ghulam Mustafa Butt and General Secretary Pervaiz Awan of the drivers association, while addressing a press conference here at the Lahore Press Club on Saturday, maintained that driver Ghulam Mustafa had been driving officials of various ministers and chief secretaries for the last 23 years, and had never met even a minor accident, as he was a very careful, responsible and experienced driver. They negated the assertion in different news stories that Chief Secretary Javed Mahmood had left the injured on the spot, by saying that CSs another driver Muhammad Javed took Col (r) Ikram to the CMH. They succinctly said the CS and city administration had taken keen interest in the matter, and had sympathised with the bereaved family as well. The Association members requested the family to pray for the departed soul, and promised that they would also hold prayer gatherings for the late Colonel. They also asked the family to leave the matter to the Almighty Allah. They were of the view the drivers family was starving because of his suspension from the job.
