LAHORE - Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah has said that country is facing various challenges like terrorism and energy crisis but the government would overcome all such crises during next four years. He expressed these views addressing a seminar titled “growing street crime, status and possibilities of reforms” held at Hameed Nizami Press Institute of Pakistan on Thursday.Rana Sana said the PML-N government introduced different programs in recent past to provide opportunities to the youth. Youth Loan, Punjab Education Endowment Fund and Danish schools were the examples of their commitment toward the nation, he said. He said the government would introduce Sports Funds soon for extra-curriculum activities of the students. Talking about his interview to a foreign newspaper, Sana said he did not say what was published over the matter of military operation against the militants in a certain area. He said the journalist himself was confused during the talks. However, he said the national consensus was very important over the matter. The provincial minister lauded efforts of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to steer the country out of crises and took a wise decision of dialogue and constituted a committee in this regard. He said operation was started after certain incidents in Bannu and other parts of the country and it was after the consensus of all stakeholders. He also endorsed the statement of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wherein he stated that dialogue and terrorism could not go side by side. However, he said the further delay in dialogue might be accepted if routine terror activities stopped occurring in the country. Former President of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) Ahmad Awais, SSP Inquiries and Disciplines Sohail Akhtar Sokhaira, senior journalist and editor Mian Saif-ur-Rehman and Adeeb Javedani were present on the occasion. HNPIP director Absar Abdul Ali hosted the program while a number of people from different walks of life took part in the seminar.The speakers urged both the government and society to work collectively against increasing crimes, particularly the street crimes.
