LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government has been struggling to get over energy crisis.
 “The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif-led government has been taking steps to meet energy needs as the crisis has seriously affected education, health, agriculture and other social sectors,” the CM said while addressing a review meeting Friday.
The chief minister was briefed about ongoing energy projects during the meeting.  He directed authorities concerned to finish the task of setting up LNG Park that would generate 1,000MW electricity. “LNG is being imported to overcome energy crisis,” he said.
CM Shahbaz told another meeting that reforms are being introduced in education, health, law and order and other sectors to provide maximum facilities to the masses.
According to a handout, he said the Punjab government is introducing the system of reward and punishment.
He said education and health sectors as are directly linked with the masses and there is a need of achieving the targets set in these sectors for betterment.  He said that his squad will come up with the public expectations. Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of the widow of former chief minister Balochistan Nawab Akbar Bugti.
In a condolence message, the chief minister prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
