Lahore - District Headquarters Hospital Sargodha, after been given the teaching status, has been attached with the Medical College, University of Sargodha.
Health Secretary Jawwad Rafiq Malik and University of Sargodha Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Zahoorul Hassan Dogar signed a document at Civil Secretariat on Friday.
The Health secretary said that the hospital had already been given teaching status and now these arrangements had been documented. He said that DHQ and THQ hospitals had been strengthened by ensuring availability of doctors, presence of nurses and paramedical staff and provision of medicine.
“It will provide opportunities to the graduates of Sargodha Medical College for doing their house jobs and other clinical studies,” the secretary added.
He further said that diagnostic and treatment facilities for the patients of the hospital would also be enhanced.
Sargodha Medical University Principal Prof Ashraf Niazi, Medical Superintendent Dr Pervaiz Haider, Higher Education Commission Regional Director Nazir Hussain, Nawaz Sharif Medical College Gujrat Principal Prof Sajjad Hussain, Health Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti and other officers were also present on the occasion.
