LAHORE - Pakistan Writers Guild (PWG) Friday organised a lecture to mark 25th death anniversary of former general secretary of PWG, Moham-mad Tufail. Renowned literary personalities and researchers including Javed Tufail, Masood Chughtai, Prof Amjad Ali Shakir and Orya Maqbool Jan shed light on the personality, art and services of Mohammad Tufail, ex-editor of well-known Urdu literary magazine Naqoosh. Prof Shakir said Mohammad Tufail presented his research works in literary writing, which was marvellous. He said the prose of Mohammad Tufail contained the rhythm of verse, which proved his grip on the Urdu language. He said the legendry writer and researcher expressed his thoughts and findings in lighter vein by minimising the gap between literature and dissertation. In edition to Naqoosh like Rasool Number and Lahore number, the editor presented the literature, history, sociology and anthropology collectively, which showed his expertise and command on his work, he added. Renowned columnist Orya Maqbool Jan said that Mohammad Tufail was loyal to our national language as he had done extra ordinary work for development of Urdu. He stressed the need to be proud of our national language as there was no nation in the history of mankind, which explored their knowledge and creativity in others language.
