Punjab government has announced to exempt the floods-affectees cultivators from agriculture tax and constituted a committee to be headed by Pervez Malik in this regard. According to details a high level meeting was held here on Saturday chaired by PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif that review the arrangements related to providing relief to the affectees of floods in various parts of the province. The Meeting was also attended by Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Secretary Punjab and Home Secretary Punjab and reviewed the measures pertaining to compensate the affectees of flooded areas in the province. Chief Minister Punjab was briefed about arrangements to rescue the affectees of flooded areas and it was decided to exempt the flooded districts of the province from agriculture levies. Districts that have been exempted from agriculture levy included Bhakkar, Rajan Pur, Layya Sialkot and Jhelum. Chief Minister Punjab also directed to constitute a committee to analyze the data and information about losses of inundation and directed to gain information to compensate the affectees of floods in the province. Chief Minister also directed the authorities concerned to evacuate the affectees from the flooded on priority and observe best available measures to rehabilitate the flood affectees.
