To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe. The establishment of divisional urban search and rescue teams by Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the historical Pakistan Day is an ample proof that the incumbent government is serious not only to provide timely emergency response and care without discrimination but also to mitigate the sufferings of people who face such untoward situations. Since it is the responsibility of government to establish socially responsible community emergency response system therefore the establishment of divisional urban search and rescue teams is a welcome step. Such initiatives throw light on the government’s firm resolve to play an effective role in order to develop safer communities in Pakistan.
