Selling India to China

The Chinese don't need to be told by Mr. Zardari about the geo-strategic importance or size of the Indian market. They know India, the wicked neighbor that it is, so very well. We seem to forget that despite having fought three wars with India. New Delhi has Islamabad firmly ensnared in the golden trap of trade concessions. India is withholding our waters, conspiring to destabilize us from Afghanistan in cahoots with US and is using the Israeli nexus to damage our country but we are sold on offering it unsolicited cooperation against our own sovereign interests. Chinese are our most trusted friends of the last fifty years. But for a viable and mutually rewarding continuation of this beautiful relationship, we have to protect their interests and save them from Indian and American conspiracies. -NOOURE ZEENATE ZAMAN, Peshawar, via e-mail, October 18.
