The ongoing Indian Premier League involving many distinguished cricketers from around the world, has placed a question mark on the integrity of the game. Playing only for lucrative remuneration, disbanding the prime national interest, is the name of the game in IPL. The players have often overlooked the norms of the game in their zeal to win. The appearance of Pakistani players in such large numbers is shocking. Does this not indicate that the Pakistan Cricket Board is far too liberal to grant permission to national players to participate in a contest which would improve the cricket of our arch rivals. -DR HAMMAD AHMAD KHAN, Ontario, Canada, via e-mail, May 20.
