The government on Thursday assured the opposition that all flood affectees would be provided aid without discrimination. It was announced that elected opposition members would also be included in the provincial relief committees. This is a good move because the building of bilateral trust is important at this stage when the country is going through a serious crisis. The anti democracy campaigners are trying hard to subvert the democratic system. Corruption is one of the leading reasons why the donors have strong reservations about sending aid in cash and most of the aid is coming as material goods. By strictly enforcing transparency, we can change this perception. ZAINAB ALI, Islamabad, October 1.
