The present day paradigm of politics, created by some leaders is that there is no sanctity of promises, or even agreements, made in public. All political leaders make rosy promises during elections to lead the innocent up the garden path. Should we assume that these promises are all meaningless and would be duly sacrificed in the name of power politics once these leaders come into power?
