Amnesty International has criticised India for not prosecuting its paramilitary forces who did gross violations of the human rights in Kashmir. India has killed 100,000 people in Kashmir valley and still continues to oppress the innocent Kashmiris under its Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), which its government has always been reluctant to repeal. Due to this law the violence is escalated and the Indian armed forces get away from whatever crime they commit. It is time that India should be admonished on its human rights violations and made to quit its dream of becoming the region’s tyrannical hegemon. Pakistan should play a grander role and take up the matter on all international forums, so that India is held accountable for its bullying behaviour.
