According to press reports, the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has said that a French Revolution was knocking at the door of Pakistan and the MQM would lead that revolution. Shahbaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab has also said that need of the hour was a judicious distribution of resources to eliminate poverty and unemployment. If the distressed humanity is not served, the extremism would increase to the point that people would come out on streets. If these two leaders are so concerned about the down-trodden people of Pakistan, why don't they join hands and fight for abolishment of feudalism, prosecute corruption and establish speedy justice. The two leaders must understand that unless the landless peasantry is supported in an initiative, nothing will change in this country. This would also strengthen political parties which are imperative for democracy. -ENGR. S.T. HUSSAIN, Lahore, September 3.
