Dragging its feet

Nawaz Sharif said that there would be no load shedding for more than six hours after Imran Khan’s call for protest. Either, we have to accept that no one listens to the PM or, unfortunately, we have to say that he is a liar, as no one paid any heed to his statement. Moreover, people living in villages are suffering over 16 to 18 hours load shedding daily, which is utterly unbearable for them in this heat and especially as students cannot prepare for their exams. The PM was kind enough to distribute laptops, but he could not provide electricity for them to run on. This government seems reluctant to act on any solution to increase electricity, so all we have left is the option of organising peaceful protests every week. To me, it seems as if the present government is following in the footsteps of the previous government by flooding the poor with direct and indirect taxes while taking no action to resolve the issues.
