Fast and furious

Now-a-days our roads are no different than some action movies roads. The way people drive, especially bikes forces us to think that we are not on our local city roads but have entered an action movie world. Mostly, bikers ride so fast as to endangering not only their lives but the lives of others around them.
Following traffic rules seems a taboo in Pakistan. Most of the youngsters think that if they drove slow and followed the traffic rules, they would be considered ‘un-cool’, covering the distance of twenty minutes in just five minutes is a thrill in itself. This fast and furious driving seems to be considered as an ‘in’ thing and something to be proud of. These youngsters don’t listen to their parent’s advice and are almost rude if any mature person wanted to advice them. In Pakistan all the hurry is on the streets, if all these people leave there home early and don’t rush on the streets we may have a safer society. Everyone knows the traffic rules but no one follows them except on a few major through fares where the traffic police is monitoring and fines heavy ‘chalans’ to anyone who breaks a traffic rule, but this applies to very few roads. It’s always better to be late than to be ‘late’.
