There has been an increase in the incidents of car thefts throughout the major cities of Pakistan, in the recent years. Unfortunately, the police have been unable to check this rising trend and the citizens are living under constant fear. It is important that the police should be provided with the proper resources by the authorities to tackle this situation. It is also imperative that the police should develop a liaison with the citizens, as well as develop a comprehensive strategy to deal with this predicament. Once the cars have been recovered, it should be made certain that they are handed back to their respective owners, without delay. HASSAN BASHIR, Islamabad, February 8.
