Gilani’s political survival

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s intra court petition having been dismissed he is in a real fix. Showing too much of loyalty for President Zardari he has put himself self in soup. He has to appear before the Supreme Court on February 13 to bear the brunt which can even mark an end to his career. The next general elections agreed to be held after the budget, he is left with only six months of supreme power as compared to a life long political career ahead. His survival thus lies in apologising from the court for violating its orders and resign from the job. By doing so he may be able to keep his eligibility for fighting the next elections intact, though having proved a total flop his party has no chance of coming to power again.
