Newspapers have published a statement by the information minister, Pervez Rashid that the government will hold negotiations with the Taliban within the ambit of constitution. Normally for talks to be held, it is pre-requisite that the participating entities agree on the basics of negotiations. The government according to the information minister has laid down its condition that is, following the constitution of Pakistan. On the other hand, the other party, Taliban not only rejects the Pakistani constitution but also regard it as a document of infidels. It means these negotiations have no chance to see the light of realization. CAPT. (R) WASIF SYED, Islamabad, July 8.
