When the whole world is sad on recent Israeli attacks in Gaza, the extremists in Pakistan continue to bomb our cities. Today they have done it in D.I. Khan. These are not some Israelis or Indians but Muslim Pakistanis who believe in one kind of Jihad only - kill or be killed. Most of Islamic scholars consider this type of acts against the teachings of Islam. But our peaceful religion is now in the hands of these extremists. I urge the Pakistani government to take every possible step to crack down on them lest the outside forces are given an excuse to intervene inside the Pakistani territories, which will not be very different from what we are seeing in Gaza today. -DAWAR NAQVI, Torrance, Canada, via e-mail, January 5.
