International Relations (IR) is a major discipline in the academics and has a number of significant implications, unfortunately Punjab, which has highest literacy rate lacks the acknowledgement of the importance of this subject. Although it is offered as a major in colleges and universities yet the selection commissions, at provincial level, do not offer the subject of IR as an optional paper for the competitive exams and the graduates of the subject have to look elsewhere to utilise their specialised energies, whereas being un-offered at the Public Service Commission exam the lecturers, of other subjects, have to teach the gradates of IR. Here I would like to draw the attention of the administration of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) to look into the matter and fix this issue.
