Look thruthiscrystal ball

The devastation wrought by floods has been so mammoth that one sees no hope. But look at the silver linings we have in these dark clouds. The water level has risen in dams. The land is fertile for the next 10-15 years which might fetch us a bumper crop which might actually start a boom in agriculture sector. Although the cotton crop has been destroyed which might affect the textile sector a bit but the money is in fast circulation in the economy as people are giving generous donations to flood victims. This is going to boost the economy, especially with the foreign aid pouring in. As the aid amounts increase, the rupee is bound to gain strength against the US dollar. I see a booming economy in my crystal ball. These floods might just be the blessing in disguise Pakistan had been hoping for four decades. -AFFAN BIN SAQIB, Lahore, September 13.
