This is with reference to the hanging of Pro-Pakistani Bangladesh Islamist leader Abdul Kader Molla who had been condemned to death by the so called Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) for his alleged war crimes during the 1971 war.
I just want to stress, with all the sincerity at my command, that we as Muslims and Pakistani and believer in Two Nation Theory must raise our voice for the people who remained loyal to Pakistani state – a country in whose creation their noble ancestors played a leading role – during the 1971 war. I do not have any grudge for the ordinary Bengalis rather I hold them in high esteem, but my mind goes for the millions of Bengalis who have suffered because they or their parents or children were devoted to the ideology of Pakistan and many shed their blood for it.
Our government also declared the hanging as Bangladesh’s internal matter. How can it be an internal matter when the indicted person was found guilty of helping the Pakistani state in 1971. Just imagine and God forbid if Sawat or Balochistan or Fata are separated from Pakistan, what fate will be waiting for the population who are helping and fighting for the Pakistani state, and what message will it give to them.
Time is a great healer and I hope and pray that Allah, in His benign mercy, will reunite the Muslims of Pakistan and Bangladesh, if not physically, at least in mind and soul. I devoutly believe that no power on earth can snap the Islamic mooring of the Bengali Muslims and that they remain an inseparable part of the mainstream of the Muslim fraternity.
