Hoping for the best

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has assured the nation that there was no deadlock in the talks with Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan(TTP). He said talks did not take place last week as some members of the government committee were unavailable. He stressed that things were moving along very nicely and talks would proceed. He further clarified that the government was releasing non-combatant prisoners only and it was a crucial step in the peace process. He talked about mutual understanding and stressed that the army was on board. He said that the government and army were jointly taking the dialogue process forward.
The peace process must continue and the Interior Minister’s remarks should assure a lot of people that the government is not backing down. The talks have not stalled and they are certainly not going to stop. We hope that some good news regarding peace will be heard soon for only then can Pakistan more forward.
