Present elections have shown how the nation feels about certain political parties, the nation, with its vote, has swept ANP clear off Pakistan politics and cut it down to its size. Most of us remember it is the party of the descendants of Ghaffar Khan of re-partition repute, who was the blue-eyed boy of Indian Hindus, he prided himself on being called 'Saradhi Ghandi' and fought tooth and nail against Qaid-i-Azam and the creation of Pakistan. Having failed at that, he throughout his life, engaged in subversive activities against Pakistan and in collaboration with Afghanistan, he tried his best to create a separate land for the Pathans, ‘Pakhtoonastan' encompassing NWFP territories.
He failed miserably in this endeavor and was hostile to Pakistan, when he died he did not allow his body to be buried in Pakistan and bequeathed that his dead body be taken for burial out of this country to his beloved land, Afghanistan. His present descendants seem to have continued to carry out his mission. Their first success has been to change the name of NWFP, and include the word 'Pakhtoonkha' in the new name. It is maturity of people of NWFP that they have outright rejected this party.
