I would like to request the Chief Minister NWFP, IG Police and the chief of the FC to take necessary action against rockets being launched from the adjacent tribal areas of Peshawar like Khyber Agency, Landi Kotal, Dara Adam Khail etc. These rockets have really terrified the posh suburban locality of Hayatabad. Last night, at about 12 A.M, a barrage of rocket fire was launched on this area. One could not guess what was going on but later came to know from TV that three rockets were fired on the Hayatabad industrial area and other phases. This attack actually killed one woman in Hayatabad. I wish to warn the authorities that if these rocket attacks continued for a few days, most people of Hayatabad area would move out to other areas and this posh town would soon be empty. As this area is inhabited by mostly wealthy people, they already have a tendency to move to Islamabad for safe jobs and education for their children. The rocket attacks are no doubt a reaction to the army operations in Dara Adam Khail. But one wonders where is our police and where are our intelligence agencies and what are they doing to counter them? -MURAD ALI MOHMAND, Peshawar, September 18.
