Senator Raza Rabbani has been doing a good job in trying to get the executive in line. In Pakistan we have a parliamentary system, yet the body is not supreme and the executive gets away with what ever it wants to do. The Panama accounts and the PM’s absence are just two incidents. Many representatives are regularly absent from the National Assembly sessions, and the legislators seem to have only a rudimentary understanding of important issues like the Kalabagh Dam and the budget. So it seems it all falls to the Senate, with Rabbani leading the charge. But one man cannot be right all the time. The rest have to wakeup.
