The Punjab chief minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced he will improve the neglected health and education sectors in the province. This is late but still a good decision. The present federal & Punjab province government of PML-N didn’t pay attention towards these sectors. Their prime focus was on to curb terrorism, handle energy crisis, construct motorways, run metro bus service and orange line train.

The poor people can not afford the fees being charged in private schools and hospitals. They have no option to leave themselves at the mercy of substandard services of public sector institutions. Treatment and medicines in government hospitals are inaccessible without any influential source. The poor teaching staff, improper management and lack of infrastructure are major problems in education and health sectors. Their is a dire need to improve the standard of hospitals and educational institutes in Pakistan.

Economic conditions do not permit the government to spend huge amount on these sectors but solutions can be evolved by devising a target oriented approach. Every year four model hospitals can be made with all state of the art facilities in each province for the underprivileged. Similarly, schools, colleges and universities can be made. After five year tenure of each government one can easily see the change brought about. Our political parties continue to lock horns on unnecessary issues having nothing to do with the common man.
