Mother earths’ bounty

Pakistan is not a barren land in terms of natural resources spread across its vast terrain. Much of its vast land is still untapped; no exploration has yet been done for potential natural resources. The Thar coalfield is one such example. The power crisis in Pakistan has incapacitated both men and machines at the same time. No country has suffered from such nightmares as we, being a nuclear nation we are going through. Many European countries are benefiting from solar energy where sunny days are rare but Pakistan has a large renewable energy wealth which is available from the sun which shines on this country year round and plenty of water flowing down the Himalayas that is wasted in the sea or underground seepage. But one thing that is not on our side is time; the energy conundrum is a virtual time bomb that we would have to defuse. DR. MUKHTAR ALI, Kurram Agency, June 18.
