Out of turn promotion

The management of the Pakistan Institute of Management Sciences (PIMS) has recently formed a Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) just to oblige one candidate who has been promoted despite not being qualified enough for the promotion as per the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s (PMDC) rules. For anyone to be eligible for promotion from assistant professor to the post of professor, the minimum criteria involves five years of service as assistant professor with three Publications in the PMDC’s recognised journals. The candidate promoted out of turn in the final days of the PPP government has only three years of service as assistant professor under their belt and with only one publication. We would like to request the concerned secretary and PMDC management to immediately look into this scandal and bring to book those responsible for flouting the rules and regulations with no regard for merit.
