According to the AFP news agency, China has banned civil servants, students, and teachers in the far west region (Sinkiang) from fasting during Ramadan and ordered restaurants to stay open. This is very depressing news. The Chinese Muslims should be free to practice their religion. I would request the Government of Pakistan to take up the matter with China to end the persecution of Chinese Muslims.
