A friend in need?

On September 11, 2001, the world saw a change, when terrorists attacked the World Trade Centre in New York. It was one of the most controversial moves. USA authorities claimed that Al-Qaeda was behind it. To fight against them, America invaded first Iraq and then Afghanistan. NATO forces killed and bombed both countries mercilessly. The two main forces the Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants were hit badly, this increased act of terrorism in Afghanistan and then Pakistan, as lots of militants ran from Afghanistan to Pakistan.
Pakistan joined USA in their claimed ‘War Against Terror.’ Pakistan cooperated with NATO and American troops to destroy the terrorists. But this partnership with America proved to be a disaster for Pakistan. Taliban militants established themselves in Pakistan’ western borders and attacked innocent people. Suicide bombings, mass killings, attacks on civil society and security forces started. Now Pakistan should retreat from this war and let the Americans deal with it. This friendship has harmed Pakistan, damaged its economy and killed thousands of innocent people.
