Speed checking cameras for Islamabad

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have obtained new speed checking cameras for installation at the main boulevards of the capital city to control over-speeding and rash driving by the motorists. Police officials including inspectors would be given training about the use of these cameras for making them more durable. It should be top priority of ITP to ensure road discipline in the city and utmost efforts are being made to accomplish this task. Over-speeding is the main cause of road accidents and ITP personnel are working efficiently to control this violation to make Islamabad accident-free city. The newly obtained speed-checking cameras will be installed initially at Margalla Road, 7th Avenue, Islamabad Expressway, Kashmir Highway, Murree Road, Park Road and other important avenues. ITP has also decided to launch effective educational campaign to control speed violation and brochures will be distributed to disseminate message for road safety. All beat officers should give recommendations for better traffic flow in their respective areas and also keep in mind the convenience of the road users. The prime focus should be on ensuring effective implementation of traffic rules and work devotedly for a vibrant traffic system in the city.
