ISLAMABAD (APP) - National Commission on Status of Women (NCSW) will hold a talk on food security and its impact on citizens in present situation of exorbitant prices on April 1. A founding member of Shirkatgah, writer and an activist, Najma Sadeque will speak about rights of the poor, food security and peace, said a news release issued here Thursday. She will especially address problems being faced by people in flood affected areas and will talk about simple, doable measures that can be taken by citizens and government to meet food needs. The recent devastating floods and the unprecedented food inflation are causing much hardship and exacerbating poverty in the areas affected by the floods. It is a dire need to shift focus and attention to this issue before it gets worse and come up with solution and identify opportunities for economic growth at local level.
