'Troops fully geared to ensure national defence

MULTAN - Commander Corps Lieutenant General Shafqaat Ahmed visited semi-desert Khudai Ranges near Muzaffargarh and witnessed exercises conducted by Armour, Infantry and Artillery troops. Armour troops exhibited their skill, and crafty manoeuvres were seen during the exercises. The aim of the exercise is to provide a tactical environment to the troops of Armour and Artillery and Infantry for handling weapons and equipment during the exercise. Talking to the troops, Corps Commander Lt-Gen Shafqaat Ahmed lauded the precision and agility of the troops and said that the professional standards attained by them gives him confidence and pride that the troops are fully geared to shoulder the responsibilities of national defence designated to them. He said that morale and training played a vital role in improving the fighting spirit of the Army and he was impressed to observe the high level of motivation and professionalism of the fighting forces. He said that troops of Multan Corps are actively participating in war against terror and this training has boosted their professional standards. The Corps Commander also said that troops of Multan Corps participated in Operation Labbaik for rescue and rehabilitation of displaced persons of the Southern Punjab which is still continued in various flood effected districts. Along with these activities, troops are also engaged in their training activities without compromising professional standard which is hallmark of Pakistan Army, the Corps Commander added.
