Murder stirs up protest

SHEIKHUPURA - The traffic on GT Road near Rayanpura remained out of gear for more than two hours when a large number of residents protested against killing of an elderly man here the other day.
As per detail, contractor Tufail Shah was supervising work on an under construction street. The street was blocked for traffic and meanwhile, two motorcyclists Shahbaz and another attempted to pass through the street. The contractor forbade them to do so which led to a scuffle.  On listing the noise, an elder man of the area came to intervene into the matter. The infuriated motorcyclists shot Shah Muhammad dead. The area people and shopkeepers took to the road and suspended the traffic in protest against incident.
The Muridke Saddr Police reached the spot and restore traffic after giving an assurance to the protesters that the killers would be arrested soon.
