Seven inmates to be executed on April 8 in Sialkot brothers’ lynching case

Sialkot-  Death warrants of as many as seven convicts, were issued in a murder case of two brothers in Sialkot today.

Judge of special courts Justice Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmed directed the jail superintendent to execute the inmates, Jameel Jeela, Rashid Mehr, Iqbal, Ameen, Ali Raza, Shafiq and Sarfraz, on April 8. The warrants were issued while rejecting the bail pleas of the suspects.

The honorable judge termed the incident shameful and enraged over the inefficient performance of security forces.

The convicts were involved in lynching the two brothers Hafiz Mughees and Hafiz Muneeb, in the presence of police in August 2011. Police filed an FIR the same day, accusing the brothers as robbers.

Moreover, suspects  lawyer stated to file a petition against the death sentence in Supreme Court (SC).
