CHINIOT - Ehtram-e-Ramazan Ordinance will be implemented in letter, the district police officer said while chairing a meeting to review the Ramazan arrangements in Chiniot. He directed the assistant commissioners and special price control magistrates to perform their duties with responsibility to check the prices of essential commodities including implementation of the Ordinance and nobody should be allowed violate it. He maintained that the arrangements for daily Ramazan bazaars should be made and uninterrupted supply of essential items should be ensured to make these bazaars beneficial for consumers. He directed that the distribution of subsidized flour in the district should be kept in order. He directed that hotels, restaurants and canteens at markets should remain closed till the Aftaar timing with exception to hospitals, general bus stands, railway stations, schools of little children as relaxation provided under the Ordinance. Meanwhile, the District Price Control Committee met here with DCO in the chair to fix the prices of essential commodities in the markets as well as Ramazan bazaars. The DCO said, The committees comprising citizens are being established which will check the rates of daily-use items and discourage hoarding and profiteering during Ramazan. He vowed to provide people with daily-use items with concession. The DCO also ordered the officials concerned to come down hard on profiteers and hoarders to provide relief to common man. He also warned that such elements would be dealt with sternly.
